Amar Singh Chamkila, Diljit Dosanjh’s most recent film, is really popular among cinema enthusiasts. The actor recently made an appearance as a guest on the Great Indian Kapil Show, alongside director Imtiaz Ali and co-star Parineeti Chopra.
Imtiaz Ali recounted a special moment from their chat in which Shah Rukh Khan declared Diljit to be the greatest performer in the nation. According to the filmmaker,
“Mujhe Shah Rukh Khan ne bola tha ki agar iss mulk mein sabse acha koi actor hai, toh woh apne Diljit paaji hai Shah Rukh Khan told me Diljit is the best actor in the country.
” When Parineeti heard this, she cried out, “Wow!” and Diljit was astounded.
On the same programme, Imtiaz Ali said that the movie would not have happened at all if Diljit Dosanjh had declined the offer.
“Mujhe aisa lagta hai ki agar Diljit paaji ne mana kar diya hota toh ye film shayad ban hi nahi sakti thi,” said the director.
“Maybe it would not have been made if Diljit had declined Amar Singh Chamkila.” Yes, we were quite fortunate.
There was no better cast for us we could not have asked for a greater cast. Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra are both Dono since Parineeti is an actor, singer, and was willing to put on 15 kg for the biopic. Thus, it was quite lovely.”
Amar Singh Chamkila, the renowned Punjabi singer, is portrayed in the biopic by Diljit Dosanjh, while Parineeti Chopra plays his co-singer and wife,
Amarjot Kaur. On April 12, the movie was made available on Netflix.
