Behind showbiz glamour, even celebrities face challenges in finding life partners, as Yashma Gill revealed in a recent interview. In an appearance on Dananeer Mobeen’s YouTube show GirlsOnly, Yashma candidly discussed her personal experiences and societal pressures. She joked about her “rishta” struggles, sharing how she sought help from a close friend’s mother after facing constant difficulties. Reflecting on her reality, she said, “People think actors have endless options, but busy schedules make relationships hard to prioritize.”
Yashma explained, “Even the few people available often find us unapproachable, which further complicates forming meaningful connections.” Using humor to connect with viewers, she encouraged suitors to take a chance, emphasizing her relatability and need for companionship. She added, “We are just like other women, and we also seek love, understanding, and someone to share our lives with.”
Moving deeper, Yashma highlighted challenges working women face, such as suppressing emotions and letting problems build up unresolved. She remarked, “Society still holds biases against working women, doubting their ability to balance careers, homes, and relationships successfully.” Yashma continued, “Many believe independent women are too exposed to the world or might struggle to adapt to traditional family roles.”
At 35, Yashma expressed frustration over proposals requiring female actors to leave their careers, calling it an outdated expectation. She stated firmly, “This career defines me, and I can’t imagine a future where I am entirely dependent on someone else.” When asked hypothetically, Yashma admitted she might leave her career if she felt secure in a serious, committed relationship.
She explained, “If I trust my future husband to fulfill his promises, only then would I consider making such a major sacrifice.” Adding humor, she said, “Yes, I’ll leave my career, but he’ll need to leave behind plenty as well to make it fair!” Yashma’s reflections provided insight into the sacrifices and pressures women in entertainment face while navigating love and relationships.
