Türkan Atay, a well-known Turkish influencer with strong ties to Pakistan, recently called out fashion designer Maria B for allegedly failing to pay her for a PR campaign. Türkan, who studied in Pakistan and is married to her university friend Zaka, has built a loyal following of over 853K Instagram fans by creating Urdu content that resonates with Pakistani audiences.

In her Instagram stories, Türkan claimed that she paid for the campaign’s production upfront, expecting reimbursement from Maria B’s team. However, according to Türkan, she received only a partial payment and has been waiting for months for the rest. Frustrated by the delay, she accused Maria B and her team of dishonesty, saying, “Maria and her team are so fraud. If I start listing her lies, they won’t end.”
Türkan’s emotional outburst included serious allegations. She demanded a public apology, criticized Maria B for allegedly using social causes for personal gain, and threatened legal action. “You can’t play games with me. You may deceive others, but not me. I will take this to court,” she declared.
In response, Maria B addressed the issue in a video. She claimed that Türkan approached her first and that the brand did pay her hundreds of dollars. Maria admitted to internal miscommunication caused by a junior PR team member but denied any refusal to pay. She added, “We’re trying to resolve it. She is just being aggressive.”
While some netizens support Maria B, others back Türkan, praising her for standing up. However, a few criticized Türkan’s harsh language.

The dispute continues to divide audiences online—highlighting the growing tension between brands and influencers over transparency and professionalism in collaborations.
