In a show like Squid Game, surprises are rarely pleasant — they’re usually deadly. However, fans are in for a thrilling treat as the first six minutes of Squid Game Season 3 have just been released, offering a gripping preview of what lies ahead.

The preview opens with a shocking twist: Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) makes an unexpected return. Pink Guards deliver him back to the infamous dormitory inside a gift-box coffin — the same type used for eliminated players. His fellow contestants appear relieved, but his return only marks the beginning of a new, more dangerous phase of the game.

Lee Jung-jae, who plays Player 456, described the scene as transformative. “When the coffin is opened, Gi-hun is reborn,” he explained. “He must play the game again and face even harder choices.” According to the actor, filming this sequence felt like entering another universe.

As the final season begins, the stakes are higher than ever. Gi-hun is determined to end the violent competition, but his opponent — the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) — won’t make it easy. Instead of eliminating Gi-hun, the Front Man lets him live to suffer the consequences of his actions. “He wants Gi-hun to lose faith in humanity and in himself,” says series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
Lee Byung-hun agrees, adding, “The Front Man believes Gi-hun will eventually adopt his worldview — that humanity is beyond saving.”

With death around every corner and psychological warfare intensifying, the question remains: Can Gi-hun hold onto his values, or will the game finally break him?
Squid Game Season 3 premieres on June 27. Until then, stream the jaw-dropping opening minutes and brace yourself for a deadly final round.
