Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan stepped into the public eye on Monday, marking his first appearance since surviving a stabbing incident at his home last month.
The 54-year-old actor attended a Netflix event in Mumbai, where he actively promoted his upcoming heist thriller, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. With a visible cast and a bandage on his neck, he confidently addressed the audience. “It feels very nice to be standing here in front of you. And it feels very nice to be here,” he stated while discussing the film.

On January 16, an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, broke into Saif’s Bandra residence in Mumbai, allegedly intending to commit theft. A violent altercation ensued, and the attacker stabbed the actor in his thoracic spine and other areas.
Medical professionals rushed him to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. After receiving treatment, he recovered and left the hospital just four days later.

Following the attack, his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, released a statement, calling it an “incredibly challenging day” for their family. She also urged the media to respect their privacy, emphasizing that excessive coverage could endanger their safety.
Despite the traumatic experience, Saif chose to return to the spotlight at the Netflix slate announcement event. While there, he enthusiastically promoted Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, a high-stakes heist thriller where he plays a master thief hired to steal the world’s most elusive diamond, The African Red Sun.
Directed by Robbie Grewal and Kookie Gulati, the film features an ensemble cast, including Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor, and Nikita Dutta. It also marks Saif’s reunion with filmmaker Siddharth Anand, with whom he previously collaborated on Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). The film will premiere directly on Netflix in March 2025.
Expressing his excitement, Saif shared, “Siddharth and I have been talking about this film for a long time. I’ve always wanted to do a heist movie, and I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star.”

Meanwhile, anticipation for his son’s Bollywood debut continues to build. Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar announced that Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan, will make his acting debut in Nadaaniyan, a Netflix film co-starring Khushi Kapoor.
Although the release date for Nadaaniyan remains unconfirmed, Ibrahim already has two other projects in the pipeline—Sarzameen and Diler. These upcoming films will showcase his acting skills and solidify his place in the industry.
