Nida Yasir, one of Pakistan’s most beloved morning show hosts, recently opened up about one of the most painful chapters in her life. With over two million followers on Instagram and a legacy built through sixteen years of hosting Good Morning Pakistan, Nida has become a household name. Beyond her role as a host, she’s also a successful film producer, having worked on projects like Wrong No., Mehrunisa V Lub U, and Chakkar.

But on a recent episode of her show, the usually composed host showed a much more vulnerable side. Joined by guests Mohsin Abbas Haider, Memoona Qudoos, and Zainab Raza, the conversation turned toward the grief of losing loved ones. As the discussion deepened, Nida Yasir became visibly emotional when speaking about the loss of her mother.

Fighting back tears, Nida recalled, “When my mother passed away, I wasn’t even in Pakistan. It was during the COVID era—I was in the Maldives. After I returned, I kept listening to her voice notes and crying. It became a pattern. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I began taking it out on my husband and children. I was bitter and distant. One day, I sat myself down and decided I had to stop listening to those voice notes. I still have them, but I don’t have the strength to play them again.”

Her raw honesty struck a chord with viewers, many of whom praised her for speaking so openly about grief and mental health—topics rarely addressed so candidly on morning television.

Nida Yasir’s heartfelt moment reminded fans that even the strongest public figures carry their own private pain—and sometimes, healing begins with simply speaking it out loud.
