Renowned Punjabi singer Naseebo Lal has taken legal action against her husband, accusing him of physically assaulting her at their home in Lahore, Express News reported on Saturday.
According to the police report, the incident unfolded when Lal was sitting in the courtyard of her Shahdara Town residence. At that moment, her husband, Naveed Hussain, arrived and, without warning, started verbally abusing her. Soon after, he picked up a brick and struck her face, severely injuring her nose and the left side of her face.
In response, authorities swiftly registered an FIR based on her complaint and launched efforts to apprehend the suspect. Meanwhile, police officials assured that they were actively investigating the case and would take legal action accordingly.

Shifting focus to her career, Naseebo Lal was born on January 10, 1970, in Chishtian, Pakistan. She has made a name for herself as a celebrated folk singer, admired for her powerful and deeply emotive voice. Coming from a nomadic family originally from Rajasthan, India, she grew up in Pakistan after her ancestors migrated post-Partition. Her musical journey began in her youth when she started singing at weddings and family gatherings.
Over time, her admiration for the legendary Madam Noor Jahan fueled her passion for music. Consequently, Lal built a career spanning over three decades, during which she recorded more than 1,500 songs in Punjabi, Urdu, Marwari, and Pashto. Additionally, she gained prominence by performing in traditional Pakistani stage shows and cultural events.

Her breakthrough moment came in 2016 when she made her debut in Coke Studio’s ninth season, which significantly expanded her audience. Later, her collaboration with Sufi icon Abida Parveen on Tu Jhoom in Coke Studio’s 14th season earned widespread praise.

Despite her success, Lal remains dedicated to her craft. She continues to refine her skills and evolve as an artist, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to music.
