This much-anticipated series also marks a milestone as Pakistan’s first-ever Netflix original.
Adapted from Farhat Ishtiaq’s best-selling novel, the series boasts a star-studded cast including Fawad Khan, Maya Ali, Hania Aamir, Khushhal Khan, Iqra Aziz, and Ahad Raza Mir. Naturally, excitement around the show has been massive. However, fans have recently expressed concern over its delayed release. The issue reportedly stems from Netflix South Asia being managed through its India office, which has complicated the show’s fate due to ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.
Addressing the growing curiosity, Mahira Khan spoke to DW Urdu and gave an honest update. She confirmed that the entire show has already been filmed. However, she admitted that she’s unsure when or how it will be released. She praised the cast’s performances and acknowledged the hard work behind the project but emphasized that its future remains uncertain.
As expected, her statement sparked strong public reaction. Many fans expressed frustration over the uncertainty. One user commented, “Why is our industry still dependent on them? These questions shouldn’t even be asked from A-listers.” Another added, “Why are you so unsure of the release?” Despite the mixed responses, some fans chose optimism. “I love the novel, so I’m okay even if it never becomes a drama,” one person shared.
