Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, the acclaimed Pakistani writer behind hit dramas like Mere Paas Tum Ho, Pyare Afzal, and Sunn Mere Dil, is once again making headlines. Known for his powerful storytelling and equally bold opinions, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has sparked fresh conversation with his latest remarks on cross-border collaborations.

Appearing on RNN’s podcast hosted by Bushra Khan and Naeem Hanif, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar opened up about his change in stance regarding working with Indian creatives. Previously, he had firmly declined any offers from across the border, citing a lack of respect for Pakistani talent in India. However, his views seem to have taken a turn.
“After this particular incident, I want to announce that I am now ready to work with India,” Khalil ur Rehman Qamar declared during the podcast. “I had refused offers for years, but the way my own country has treated me recently—without fairness or justice—has left me deeply hurt. India, on the other hand, has always shown immense respect.”
He recalled his past visits to India with admiration, highlighting the warmth he received. “Sometimes their actors would cry on the phone just talking to me out of respect,” he shared. “Meanwhile, my own country doesn’t value its heroes. Here, there’s a tendency to drag down those who’ve contributed sincerely.”
Qamar’s emotional remarks underline a sense of betrayal from his homeland, especially considering his longstanding contributions to Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Despite past criticism of India’s treatment of Pakistani artists, he now feels more appreciated by Indian fans than by his own.

Previously,Khalil ur Rehman Qamar had maintained that he would only consider Indian projects if Pakistani writers were given due respect. With this recent shift, he’s now open to collaboration, signaling a major development in his career and possibly the cultural exchange between the two nations.
