Warner Bros. Pictures has unveiled a fresh trailer and poster for Superman, the much-anticipated reboot directed by DC Studios co-head James Gunn. Set to release on July 11, this film marks the first entry in Gunn’s reimagined DC Universe and the first solo Superman movie in over ten years.
David Corenswet steps into the iconic role of Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan stars as fearless journalist Lois Lane. Nicholas Hoult joins the cast as Lex Luthor, described as a brilliant yet dangerous megalomaniac. The ensemble also includes Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific.

The new trailer highlights a Superman who not only exhibits strength but also profound moral conviction. One powerful scene shows him halting a war single-handedly—only to face arrest moments later. This blend of emotional tension and physical stakes signals Gunn’s unique storytelling approach. He balances action with humor and depth, staying true to Superman’s core values while giving the character a fresh voice.
Moreover, Rachel Brosnahan recently expressed her excitement for the role during the 2024 SAG Awards. “Lois is smart, ambitious, and witty,” she shared. “She usually knows she’s the smartest person in the room.”
The film, produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran, is based on DC characters originally created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Supporting cast members include Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
Behind the scenes, Gunn collaborates with top-tier talent like cinematographer Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, and composer John Murphy. Editors Craig Alpert, Jason Ballantine, and William Hoy shape the film’s rhythm.
Notably, the December 2023 teaser broke records by surpassing 250 million views, becoming the most-watched DC trailer to date.
