Kangana Ranaut, a well-known Bollywood actress, recently released her latest movie titled ‘Tejas’. The action-thriller movie, which revolves around an Indian Air Force pilot, didn’t perform well at the box office despite its name.
The film received negative reviews from both film critics and audiences, further weighing down its poor performance. Indian film trade analyst Komal Nahta attributed the movie’s failure to being ‘bad.
Trade expert Girish Johar believes that ‘Tejas’ failed to impress the audience at the box office due to two reasons.
According to him, even though Kangana Ranaut went all out with the promotions, people were not too interested in the promotional materials that were shared. Additionally, the audience did not find anything new in the promotions.
Johar further explained that everyone knows that it is a fictionalized underdog story and although there are planes, those who have watched movies like ‘Mission Impossible’ and ‘Top Gun’ couldn’t find the film to be at that level.
He also added that weak characterization and script were critical reasons for the film’s failure. Had the content been strong, ‘Tejas’ had all the chances to grow over the weekend, which it did not.
Therefore, the core of the film, which is the content, was not able to connect with the audience.
