The deadly Pahalgam attack in India-occupied Kashmir has escalated tensions, leading to more Pakistani celebrities’ accounts being blocked.
The April 22 Pahalgam attack killed 26 people, marking one of the worst civilian attacks in recent years. India quickly blamed Pakistan, but Islamabad firmly denied any involvement. As a result, a growing number of Pakistani stars have found their social media accounts restricted in India.
Celebrities like Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, Sanam Saeed, Bilal Abbas, and others were the first to face this ban. Indian users attempting to access their accounts now encounter the message: “Your user is unavailable in India… Because of a legal request, we have to restrict access to your user.”
Ushna Shah, Mansha Pasha, Ali Gul Pir, and Arsalan Naseer previously reported their Instagram profiles were inaccessible in India. As censorship intensifies, more celebrities continue to speak out and share their perspectives after getting blocked.
The digital crackdown has sparked discussions, with celebrities voicing frustration over the implications for free expression and cultural exchange.
Farhan Saeed

Farhan Saeed pointed out that the conversation began with discussions of a potential war, only to evolve into what he described as “high school blocking.” He expressed that this situation was ultimately a “loss” for the Indian audience.
Despite his frustration, Farhan quickly clarified his stance, sending love to Indian fans caught in the crossfire. He added, “I pray that sense prevails, and that you’ll be able to see your favorite stars again.”
Adnan Siddiqui
Adnan Siddiqui humorously shared that India had blocked his account and compared the situation to Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman’s capture. He joked that India immediately “caught” his account once he crossed the digital “border,” referencing how Pakistan captured Abhinandan in 2019 after downing his MiG 21 Bison.
While in Orlando, Siddiqui discovered that India had blocked his account. Undeterred, the Yalghaar actor quickly reminded India with a playful message: “Abhi toh party shuru hui hai” (“The party has just begun”).
Aima Baig

Singer Aima Baig kept it short and sweet by sharing a screenshot showing her account as “unavailable in India” and commenting, “urmm… okay!”
We struggled to determine whether Baig felt confused or simply didn’t care.
Asim Azhar

Asim Azhar, on the other hand, expressed delight as he posted an Instagram story announcing that his account was unavailable in India.
The singer proudly wrote, “I made it, guys,” as he joined some of the biggest names in the industry who had been banned — clearly showcasing his influence and popularity.
Armeena Khan

Actor Armeena Khan downplayed the situation but expressed concern for “supportive and peaceful fans” affected by the ban. She acknowledged their unwavering support while remaining unaffected by the situation herself.

She shared a second story revealing that Pakistan led with 77% engagement, while India accounted for just 5.4%. Despite the ban, she clarified that she felt personally fine and would not be significantly affected by it.
Muneeb Butt

Muneeb Butt dismissed any stress over India’s actions and stated he felt no “tension” about the situation. He confidently added, “Pakistan Zindabad,” reinforcing his unwavering support for Pakistan.
