Naimal Khawar, a talented actor and artist, recently opened up about her journey through Postpartum Blues Recovery and the challenges of adjusting to motherhood. In a candid podcast with Zara Noor Abbas on No Momsense, Naimal shared her struggles, support system, and valuable life lessons.
During her pregnancy, which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, Naimal relied on her husband, Hamza Ali Abbasi, for support. However, after giving birth, she faced unexpected emotional challenges that took three years to recover from. “I didn’t expect this phase to happen,” she shared, recalling the emotional moments when she couldn’t understand why she felt overwhelmed. She also noticed how society’s focus shifted from her as a pregnant woman to her baby after birth, adding to her sense of isolation.
Physically, Naimal struggled with severe back pain from trying exercises and gym routines. It wasn’t until a doctor recommended Moringa powder that she found relief and began healing her body.
Naimal also discussed how parenthood changed her relationship with Hamza. They agreed that she would take care of their son, Mustafa, while Hamza focused on work, but they were flexible and ready to switch roles if needed. She stressed the importance of women maintaining their individuality while balancing motherhood during Postpartum Blues Recovery.
Throughout this time, Naimal’s support system—especially Hamza and her sister—helped her stay strong. Hamza stayed with Mustafa when she had work commitments, ensuring she could focus on her career. Naimal also emphasized the importance of mental health, self-care, and setting boundaries to reconnect with oneself.
She urged women to prioritize their well-being and encouraged couples to have honest discussions about expectations before parenthood. Naimal also called for societal change, where parenting responsibilities are shared equally.
