Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, widely known as HSY, makes his Hollywood debut with Disney+’s newly released series Deli Boys, showcasing his versatility. He not only designs costumes for the show but also appears on screen, becoming the first Pakistani designer to achieve this milestone. Directed by Ahmed Ibrahim and Girls creator Jenni Konner, the series blends dark comedy, crime, and family drama, offering a gripping narrative. Additionally, Queer Eye’s Tan France makes a guest appearance, portraying a London-based gang leader and adding more intrigue to the storyline.

The series follows two privileged Pakistani-American brothers, Mir and Raj—played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh—whose world shatters after their father’s sudden death. As they attempt to take control of his empire, they uncover shocking secrets about his hidden life of crime. Forced to navigate tax evasion, cocaine smuggling, and unexpected dangers, they struggle to survive in an unfamiliar underworld. Meanwhile, the series keeps viewers engaged with its mix of suspense, humor, and emotionally charged moments.
HSY brings his signature South Asian aesthetic to the production, styling lead actors Poorna Jagannathan, Shaikh, and Zainne Saleh in key episodes. Additionally, he makes his Hollywood acting debut in the same episodes, marking a significant moment for Pakistani representation in global entertainment. “Designing for Deli Boys was exhilarating, but acting in it makes this experience even more special,” HSY shared. “This project is not just about fashion—it’s about representation and bringing authentic South Asian culture to Hollywood.”

Before Hollywood, HSY made his acting debut in Pehli Si Mohabbat, where he transformed into a strict and hot-tempered elder brother. In 2022, he embraced a villainous role in Ishrat Made in China, proving his ability to take on diverse characters. Now, with Deli Boys, he expands his creative journey, earning praise for both his performance and fashion contributions.
Critics commend Deli Boys for its compelling storytelling, humor, and authentic South Asian representation, making it a standout addition to Hollywood’s evolving landscape.
