Veteran actor Hina Bayat reflected on past criticism and explained her decision to work in Churails during an interview. Addressing the discussion around Hina Bayat on the Churails Controversy, she emphasized that accepting any role requires a deep understanding of the character. “I take on roles only if I can convince myself to portray the character,” she said confidently. “This approach ensures I rarely regret my choices.

Discussing Churails, she clarified that it was a web-series and not a mainstream drama, aimed at a specific audience. She further explained her role as Sherry, saying, “Real personalities like that exist in society and deserve representation.” She added, “To portray wrongdoing, we must do so truthfully to distinguish right from wrong.”

Churails follows four women who come together to expose cheating husbands after experiencing individual misfortunes. The show tackled sensitive issues. Its open discussion of sexual favors in the workplace through Sherry sparked controversy. Sherry climbed the corporate ladder using this tactic, leading to the show’s ban in Pakistan for indecency.

Hina commented, “That ban became an excuse to personally target me. However, dignity rests in the hands of a higher power.” Despite these challenges, Hina’s resolve remains strong. She has never felt bored by her work across various media platforms. Obstacles have not made her consider leaving the industry, except for moments of helplessness.

“There have been painful instances when I couldn’t help others, which made me realize my own limitations,” she shared. During these times, Hina questioned her career choice and doubted herself. “It was then that my late husband said, ‘Are you a quitter? Don’t let the inability to help one person stop you.'”

Hina also believes that creative freedom should be exercised with responsibility and grace. “One should not say everything without thinking carefully. Research should support our words, and they should be respectful,” she said. She warned against using freedom to become aggressive or use foul language, as it could be dangerous.
