Pakistani actors hosting Ramadan transmissions has become a common trend, drawing attention from viewers who enjoy seeing their favorite stars in religious settings. The main reason for featuring mainstream actors in these programs is to boost ratings, ensuring a wider audience engages with the transmission’s content.
Currently, Danish Taimoor, Faysal Quraishi, Omer Shahzad, and Bilal Qureshi are leading Ramadan shows, each bringing their own unique style and presence. Faysal Quraishi is hosting Aan TV’s Ramadan transmission, where he welcomes religious scholars, celebrities, and children to discuss faith and spirituality.
Despite their popularity, actors frequently face public backlash, as many believe hosting a religious program requires deeper Islamic knowledge and scholarly expertise. Viewers argue that actors lack the qualifications necessary to lead a Ramadan transmission, making them unsuitable for such a serious religious responsibility. Recently, Faysal Quraishi addressed this ongoing criticism, responding directly to concerns raised by people who question actors’ roles in religious discussions.
He stated, “I often hear people say, ‘Are actors going to teach us Islam now?’ but that’s not our purpose at all. We are not here to preach religion to anyone; instead, we are also in a phase of learning and self-improvement,” he added. “This is my fourth year hosting a Ramadan transmission, and throughout this journey, I have continued to gain valuable religious insights. Today, for instance, I developed a deeper understanding of justice by reflecting on the teachings of Surah Rahman during our discussion,” he shared.
In another interview, Faysal Quraishi reiterated that he doesn’t claim to be a religious scholar but simply wants meaningful conversations. He emphasized that learning is a continuous process, and these transmissions provide a valuable platform for self-reflection and faith-based discussions. His response sparked widespread online discussions, with some fans appreciating his perspective while others remained skeptical about actors hosting religious shows.
