In a recent interview, Engin fondly revisited his trip to Pakistan, sharing some unforgettable experiences. He recalled, “My visit to Pakistan was truly amazing. The love for Ertuğrul there is overwhelming. I visited Karachi during COVID, and interestingly, many locals didn’t believe in the virus. While I was unpacking in my hotel room, a group of people suddenly walked in. I told them, ‘This is my room,’ but they responded, ‘Yeah, yeah, we’re here for pictures.’ There was no concept of social distancing. It was wild!”
Furthermore, he shared another striking memory: “I visited a famous mosque and met the Imam. Suddenly, a massive crowd — nearly 5,000 people — stormed in. There was no security, and the situation became chaotic. Eventually, national guards had to step in and escort me out. It was shocking — but honestly, such love was heartwarming.”
