Diljit Dosanjh Opens Up on Working With Hania Aamir

Diljit Dosanjh, a global Punjabi sensation, has long been celebrated for elevating Punjabi music on the world stage. Alongside his musical success, he has built a solid acting career across both Bollywood and Punjabi cinema. His upcoming project, Sardaar Ji 3, recently sparked controversy for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a lead role.

Following a tense three-day standoff between India and Pakistan, Indian authorities enforced a renewed ban on Pakistani artists. As a result, Hania’s presence in the film faced intense scrutiny. Film associations in India raised concerns with Diljit, cautioning that his continued involvement with the film’s release might impact future collaborations.

Despite the mounting pressure, Diljit stood firm. He released the film’s trailer, featuring Hania Aamir prominently, and confirmed that Sardaar Ji 3 would release internationally—excluding India. Speaking to BBC Asia, Diljit clarified the timeline: “We shot the film in February when everything was normal. You can’t predict where politics will go.”

He further explained that while releasing the film overseas might result in financial losses—since India remains a key market—the producers are determined to recover at least part of their investment.

When asked about working with Hania Aamir, Diljit had nothing but praise. “She’s professional and easy to work with,” he said. “Just like with Neeru Bajwa, I always make sure my co-stars feel comfortable and respected on set.”

Meanwhile, social media has exploded with reactions. Fans from Pakistan expressed excitement, with one user commenting, “Release it here, we’ll make it a blockbuster.” Another wrote, “Now the film will earn in dollars—smart move!”
