Senior Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari received the prestigious Award of Recognition at a special ceremony in the UK Parliament, honouring her outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry and social advocacy.
The British Asian Society and Samara Events UK organized the event, which MP Yasmin Qureshi hosted. Several distinguished figures attended, including MP Afzal Khan, British Asian Society Chairman A. Haq, Maria Soraya, Amal Hafeez, and numerous community leaders, artists, and admirers of the legendary actress.
During her speech, Bushra Ansari emphasized the crucial role of Pakistani dramas in showcasing the country’s vibrant culture, traditional attire, and the Urdu language. She highlighted their global impact, particularly in the UK. Expressing her gratitude, she stated, “It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting.”
Dedicating the award to fellow artists and storytellers, she acknowledged their relentless efforts in preserving and promoting Pakistan’s cultural heritage worldwide. She also stressed the power of the arts in fostering cross-cultural connections.
MP Yasmin Qureshi praised Bushra Ansari’s decades-long career, recognizing her immense influence in bringing Pakistani culture to the global stage. “Bushra Ansari has not only entertained but has also served as a cultural ambassador, inspiring generations and introducing Pakistan’s rich artistic traditions to the world,” she remarked.

With this honour, Bushra Ansari joins the ranks of renowned Pakistani celebrities acknowledged by the UK Parliament for their contributions to global culture. Previously, Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa also received similar recognition for their remarkable achievements in the entertainment industry.
