Recently, Ayeza Khan took part in a promotional campaign for the clothing brand Ego, where she gave a short and candid interview. During the conversation, she was asked a hypothetical question: “If you were asked to leave your current life behind, what would be your escape?” Ayeza responded honestly, saying, “One day, Danish and I will disappear from screens and social media, and we will go to Switzerland.”
Although the statement appeared lighthearted and dreamy, it quickly drew criticism on social media. Many users took her comment as a sign of flaunting wealth and privilege. A wave of comments emerged, with one user writing, “Better to give new talent a chance, since she’s already planning to leave Pakistan.” Another person remarked, “We criticized politicians for leaving the country, and now actors are doing the same.”
Some fans expressed disappointment, feeling betrayed by the idea that stars who gained fame and fortune in Pakistan plan to settle abroad.
