Arshad Mehmood on Meem Se Mohabbat and His Bond with Roshi

Veteran Pakistani artist Arshad Mehmood, a celebrated musician and actor, has once again won hearts with his performance as Dada Ji in Meem Se Mohabbat. Known for his iconic roles in classics like Dhoop Kinarey, Aangan Terha, Khamosh Pani, and Ho Mann Jahan, Arshad Mehmood continues to shine on screen. Fans are also admiring his presence in ARY Digital’s Parwarish. Alongside acting, he has composed timeless music for dramas like Unkahi, including Nayyara Noor’s famous song Gar Mujhe Iska Yakeen Ho.

Recently, he appeared on Fuchsia Magazine’s YouTube show and shared insights into his character and on-screen bond with Roshi in Meem Se Mohabbat. Reflecting on his role, he explained, “Dada Ji deeply admired Roshi because she had an independent spirit. While others discouraged her choices, Dada Ji always stood by her. He was the catalyst in her journey and truly understood her.”

Sharing a personal anecdote, he added, “Once, Roshi came to me on set and said, ‘You deceived me and teamed up with him!’ That’s how immersed she was in our characters.”

Arshad Mehmood praised the drama’s direction, calling Ali Hassan a clear-headed and supportive director. I consider myself a director’s actor, and his guidance enhanced my performance. He corrected me twice, and both times it worked out brilliantly.”

Interestingly, he revealed he hadn’t initially planned on acting in the drama. “MD Productions and Mahesh had approached me while I was at NAPA. Once they found out I’d resigned, they signed me for the role immediately.”

He recalled a fan moment when a young girl asked for a photo and said, “Are all Dadas like you?”—a clear sign of how deeply viewers connected with the character.
