Indian superstar Anil Kapoor recently Anil Kapoor praises Mawra for the success of Sanam Teri Kasam for achieving extraordinary success following its re-release on February 7, 2025.
Taking to social media, the Fighter actor expressed his excitement and appreciation for the film’s resurgence. He wrote, “Congratulations to @deepakmukut and the entire Sanam Teri Kasam team on its re-release! The film has already won hearts, and its success is truly well-earned.” Kapoor also tagged Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane, and others involved in the project, wishing them even greater milestones ahead.
Originally released in 2016, the romantic drama returned to theaters on February 7, 2025. Even after a week, audiences continue to shower the film with love, proving that re-releasing it was a well-calculated move. Ever since advance bookings opened, the film has shown an upward trend, solidifying its position as a box office success.
Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru wrote and directed Sanam Teri Kasam, while Deepak Mukut produced it. Alongside lead actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, the film features Anurag Sinha, Manish Chaudhari, Murli Sharma, and Sudesh Berry. The story follows Inder Lal Parihaar, a tough ex-convict, and Saraswati ‘Saru’ Parthasarathy Parihaar, a traditional librarian. They fall deeply in love and get married, but their happiness is short-lived when tragedy strikes, changing their lives forever.
Upon its initial release in 2016, Sanam Teri Kasam struggled at the box office. However, the film has now become a massive hit among moviegoers. Within its first six days of re-release, it earned Rs 23.6 crore, and by the end of its first week, its earnings surpassed Rs 26 crore. The film’s renewed success highlights its timeless appeal and the emotional connection it continues to build with audiences worldwide.
