Tonight marks the 29th annual Critics Choice Awards, commemorating achievements in both cinema and TV, as voted on by print, broadcast, and digital journalists who cover entertainment.
The event, which will take place in Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport, will be hosted by Chelsea Handler for the second year in a row.
The Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles was originally scheduled to host the awards; but, due to a labour dispute involving several Southern California hotels, the hotel’s employees, the event was rescheduled to the airport’s entertainment area.
In terms of nominations, Barbie is leading the pack with an unprecedented 18 nominations, setting a new record for the ceremony. Oppenheimer and Poor Things come in second with 13, and Killers of the Flower Moon came in third with 12. Regarding television, Succession received five nominations, and The Morning Show received six.
Smaller events allow attendees to be more daring with their attire, whereas larger ceremonies tend to have stars playing it safe.
What will the celebrities wear at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards this evening?
Although time will tell, we might be able to get a hint from this year’s circuit’s prior award shows.
Maybe they’ll follow the Golden Globes red carpet, which features an abundance of mermaid gowns and peplums, or perhaps we can anticipate some of the Governors Awards’ more daring, exciting fashions.
View every look from the red carpet below, and return often for updates as the evening progresses.
As the stars illuminated the red carpet with their fashion choices, the Awards 2024 ceremony proved to be a celebration of individuality, creativity, and the ever-evolving landscape of red carpet fashion.
Each look spoke volumes, leaving a lasting impression on fashion enthusiasts and setting the tone for the next wave of trends in the entertainment industry.
Elle Fanning in a sculpture-like Alexander McQueen with a tonne of cutouts, Kerry Washington in a floral-beaded Armani, Julia Garner in a fiery red mesh-paneled Ferragamo, Viola Davis in a shimmering Valentino, and Amanda Seyfried in a bronze Dior Haute Couture were some of the outstanding looks from last year’s fashion show.
