Like everything else, the Pakistani music industry has seen its share of ups and downs. The worst thing, though, has been the absence of copyright laws and the regularity with which India steals Pakistani music without even bothering to give credit to the original artists.
All Pakistani singers, from the likes of NFAK to the younger generation, have encountered this on numerous occasions.
It appears that this time around, we will be treated to a Sonu Nigam song that is ostensibly not his own. Sonu Nigam recently performed the song Sun Zara for T-Series, which she co-wrote with DJ Sheizwood.
Omer Nadeem responded to instances of plagiarism. The singer stated that while he doesn’t really care if this happens at this point, they should at least give him credit when they cover his song. What he said was this:
