ARY Digital’s upcoming drama Main Manto Nahin Hoon is already making waves—long before its official release. The much-anticipated project marks the return of the powerhouse trio: Humayun Saeed, director Nadeem Baig, and writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, who previously created the hit drama Mere Paas Tum Ho. Packed with star power, the drama has caught attention not just for its scale but also for its unique casting choices—most notably Sajal Aly and Asif Raza Mir.

What’s stirring interest among fans is that Sajal and Asif, once related by marriage as daughter-in-law and father-in-law, will now share the screen. Director Nadeem Baig recently addressed this during an appearance on Maliha Rehman’s show, shedding light on how the decision came about.

According to Nadeem Baig, he always envisioned Asif Raza Mir as the ideal fit for the role of Sajal’s on-screen father. After a quick call to Asif, the actor agreed within minutes. When asked whether he’d feel awkward acting opposite Sajal, Asif replied confidently, “We’re all professionals. There’s no issue.” Nadeem then reached out to Sajal, who also had no reservations. Their mutual professionalism, Baig noted, sets an example for others in the industry who decline roles over personal matters.
Moreover, Baig emphasized that Sajal was always his first choice for the student role. Though scheduling delays postponed the announcement, she quickly joined the project once filming began.
Baig also revealed that casting Saima Khan was a personal goal. He had long believed she was underutilized as an actress and pursued her persistently. Despite repeated rejections, he eventually convinced her—with the help of director Syed Noor—to come on board.

With such a strong ensemble cast and behind-the-scenes dedication, Main Manto Nahin Hoon is shaping up to be a drama worth waiting for.
