Mahira Khan is all set to return to the big screen with Love Guru, marking her comeback after the massive success of The Legend of Maula Jatt. In this upcoming romantic comedy, she plays Sophiya Khan opposite Humayun Saeed. As the film’s release nears, both lead actors have been actively promoting it, participating in interviews, interacting with fans, and touring various cities across Pakistan and abroad.

Recently, during a press interaction, Mahira made headlines when she led a heartfelt collective dua (prayer) for Love Guru‘s success. While engaging with the media, she asked everyone to join her in praying that the film performs well at the box office. Humayun Saeed, standing beside her, humorously chimed in and encouraged everyone to pray for a 100 crore box office collection. Mahira enthusiastically followed up, praying specifically for the film to earn at least 100 crore. Given the film’s reported production budget of 28 crores, expectations are understandably high.
However, Mahira’s public prayer stirred mixed reactions online. While some fans appreciated her positive energy and hope for local cinema, others didn’t hold back their criticism. One user bluntly commented, “You don’t pray for films.” Another added, “Pakistanis’ jahalat is at its peak.” A sarcastic remark suggested, “You should ask Maulana Tariq Jameel to make dua for the movie.”

Despite the backlash, Mahira’s intention seemed rooted in genuine optimism for the revival of Pakistani cinema. After a long dry spell following Maula Jatt, audiences and filmmakers alike are looking for another blockbuster to bring back excitement to theaters.
As the release date approaches, all eyes are on Love Guru. Whether it reaches the 100 crore milestone or not, the buzz around Mahira and Humayun’s collaboration has certainly raised anticipation nationwide.
