Nadeem Baig, one of Pakistan’s most successful directors, has delivered back-to-back hits like Mere Paas Tum Ho, Jawani Phir Nahi Aani, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, London Nahi Jaunga, and Pyare Afzal. As he gears up for his cinema comeback with Love Guru this Eid ul Adha—once again starring Humayun Saeed—Baig appeared on Gup Shab and engaged in a thoughtful comparison between two leading stars: Humayun Saeed and Fahad Mustafa.

When asked to choose between the two actors for a specific role, Baig emphasized that both are masters of their craft. However, he explained that the decision depends entirely on the character he needs to cast. Not every actor fits every role, he said, highlighting how the demands of a character determine the final pick.
While praising both, Baig elaborated that Humayun Saeed has a unique charm unmatched by anyone else. According to him, Humayun can pull off roles like Main Manto Nahin Hoon, something Fahad cannot do. On the flip side, he stated that only Fahad Mustafa can shine in a film like Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. Clearly, he values both stars for their individual strengths and versatility.
Furthermore, Baig also touched on his approach to launching new talent. He clarified that he doesn’t expect loyalty or exclusivity from the newcomers he introduces. Instead, he believes in giving them a platform just like he was once given. Notably, he mentioned Hamza Ali Abbasi, calling him both a great actor and a wonderful human being. Baig proudly shared that he helped Hamza make his way into mainstream dramas.

Through his words, Nadeem Baig offered not just comparisons, but valuable insight into his casting choices and his generous outlook on nurturing talent in the entertainment industry.
