In the midst of this, Sajal appeared on a podcast hosted by Ali Hamza, where she candidly discussed her personal and professional journey. During the conversation, she also revealed an unexpected connection with acclaimed actor and host Imran Ashraf.

“Yes, Imran Ashraf is our relative,” she shared. “He’s actually my mother’s cousin. He knows my mother and attends key family events like weddings, but we’ve never personally met—even on any TV show. Still, we’re proud to call him family.”

She went on to explain how she once tried reaching out to Imran Ashraf for guidance in joining the entertainment industry. “I sent him a direct message on Instagram saying I wanted to become an actor. But later, I felt it wasn’t appropriate to seek help from relatives.”

Sajal added, “I introduced myself as his cousin’s daughter and even sent him a photo of my mother. He replied and said he’d try to refer me somewhere. Unfortunately, I lost access to my Instagram and couldn’t retrieve our chat. After that, I reached out to several other agencies.”

Her story gives fans a rare glimpse into the early struggles and decisions behind her media career. It also highlights the value she places on self-reliance, even with industry connections.
