Türkan Atay, a popular Turkish influencer with deep ties to Pakistan, has taken to social media to address a troubling experience with fashion designer Maria B. Known for creating content in fluent Urdu and proudly called “Pakistani Bhabhi” by fans, Türkan has a strong Instagram following of 853K. She’s admired for her authentic connection with Pakistani culture, especially after marrying her university friend Zaka, a Pakistani national.
Recently, Türkan publicly called out Maria B for allegedly not clearing dues for a photoshoot conducted in Turkey. Sharing her frustration, Türkan explained, “I told you in my stories that I had issues with Maria B, but you didn’t believe me. In 2025, she reached out again for a shoot in Turkey. Since we pay for venues and models here, I charged per dress.” She emphasized that all expenses were her responsibility, which is why she quoted per outfit.
Türkan added that although Maria B paid a lump sum, it didn’t match the agreed rate. “They later claimed they pay per reel, not per dress. It’s been three months—they’re wasting my time and treating me like a fool,” she said. Visibly upset, Türkan declared she would never work with Maria B again and demanded her rightful payment, citing chat screenshots as proof.
Maria B responded with a statement defending her brand’s integrity and payment history. Her team claimed the issue was a “regrettable misunderstanding” and said they had arranged a meeting to resolve it, but Türkan allegedly refused to attend.
Türkan later accused Maria B of deleting chat messages and deflecting accountability. Public sentiment quickly shifted in Türkan’s favor, with fans criticizing Maria B’s unprofessionalism and accusing her of manipulating narratives for sympathy.
