Warning: Spoilers ahead for Netflix’s The Glass Dome

In Netflix’s psychological thriller The Glass Dome, criminologist Lejla returns to her Swedish hometown after her adoptive mother’s death. What begins as a short visit turns sinister when her childhood friend Louise is found dead and Louise’s daughter Alicia goes missing. Haunted by her own past kidnapping, Lejla joins the search, and buried memories begin to resurface.

Authorities suspect Alicia’s father, Said, but Lejla uncovers deeper secrets. The investigation intensifies when Lejla remembers the name “Ecki”—her childhood abductor who used dolls, hair-cutting rituals, and kept girls in a dome. She starts connecting the dots between her own case and Alicia’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, the police chief Tomas hides his affair with Louise, compromising the investigation’s integrity. A brief detour comes when a man named Martin, obsessed with Lejla’s past, falsely claims involvement. However, the real twist arrives in the final episodes.

Lejla discovers that her adoptive father, Valter, is actually Ecki. He had kidnapped her as a child, murdered her biological mother, and later adopted her to stay close. He repeats his crime by abducting Alicia and hiding her in the same underground glass dome.

In a dramatic finale, Tomas discovers the truth and rescues both Lejla and Alicia from Valter’s clutches. Valter is arrested, and Lejla confronts him in prison. Coldly, he reveals that the other victims’ bodies lie in the lake—once believed to be a place of fond memories.

The Glass Dome ends on a disturbing note, revealing how love, when twisted by obsession, can mask monstrous acts. Through gripping twists and emotional depth, the series explores trauma, trust, and the haunting cost of buried secrets.
