Motorcycle Girl, the 2018 biographical film about Zenith Irfan, will open the Pakistan Film Festival in Jordan. Director Adnan Sarwar announced the news on social media, sharing the film’s role as a key highlight of the event. The festival will take place from January 24 to 26 in Amman. Organized by the Royal Film Commission of Jordan in collaboration with the Pakistani Embassy, the event aims to celebrate Pakistani cinema.

In addition to Motorcycle Girl, the festival will showcase Nayab (2024), directed by Umair Nasir Ali, and Bin Roye (2015), directed by Momina Duraid and Shahzad Kashmiri. These films will be screened in Urdu, with English subtitles. Additionally, Motorcycle Girl and Nayab will feature Arabic subtitles to engage a broader audience.

Motorcycle Girl is based on the remarkable story of Zenith Irfan, the first Pakistani woman to travel solo through northern Pakistan on a motorcycle. At just 20 years old, Zenith’s journey captured the hearts of many and inspired the film. The film won the Best Actress (Critics’ Choice) Award at the 18th Lux Style Awards, further solidifying its importance in Pakistani cinema.

Meanwhile, Nayab is a coming-of-age sports drama, following a passionate middle-class girl dreaming of excelling in the competitive cricket world. Starring Yumna Zaidi and Usama Khan, the film explores ambition and resilience.

On the other hand, Bin Roye is a romantic drama, based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s popular novel Bin Roye Ansoo, starring Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed. The screenings will take place at the Rainbow Theatre in Amman, with free entry, offering Jordanian audiences an opportunity to explore Pakistani cinema.
