Atif Aslam admits that he hasn't listened to music in years

Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam revealed that he hasn’t listened to music for years in a recent vlog. Famous for hits like ‘Aadat’ and ‘Tera Hone Laga Hoon’, Atif opened up about his changing relationship with music. Reflecting on his early days, Atif shared how he first discovered his passion for singing as a teenager. He lived in an empty house, where he ventured to an unoccupied upper room to sing. “When I hit a high note, I got scared, thinking, ‘What just happened?’ I quickly closed the doors,” he recalled. Initially frightened by his voice, Atif continued singing in solitude, keeping it secret from others.

Over time, he found mentors who guided him in singing, songwriting, and music production. Atif shared that he started working towards singing at the age of 14, looking back on those early years. He emphasized music’s deep impact on his life, saying he couldn’t live without it and life would feel empty. However, Atif surprised many by revealing that he hadn’t listened to music for several years. “Interestingly, I haven’t listened to music for many years. But now, I’ve started listening to it again,” he said, signaling a new phase in his journey.

This new phase also marked the launch of Atif’s Borderless World initiative to unite creative individuals from different fields. Borderless World will feature both new and classic songs, spanning multiple seasons to celebrate diverse talents. Atif clarified that Borderless World is not about competition but about collaboration and unity through the love of music. He explained that the initiative is about bringing people together for the shared passion of music and creativity, creating a space for artistic expression without boundaries.

Atif previously launched the initiative to break barriers in the arts, providing a global platform for emerging talent. The event in Lahore saw prominent figures from various fields, such as musicians Sahir Ali Bagga and Bilal Saeed. Notable actors like Hamza Ali Abbasi and Saba Qamar, along with model-actor Emmad Irfani and host Anoushey Ashraf, attended. Filmmakers Bilal Lashari, Ammara Hikmat, and singer Shae Gill supported the initiative and its vision for creative collaboration.

Through Borderless World, Atif seeks to redefine the creative landscape, fostering artistic collaboration and providing a platform for emerging talent. With this project, Atif aims to support new generations of artists and create a boundary-free space for creativity.
