Even beloved actors like Bushra Ansari are not immune to public criticism. However, if there’s one thing we know about the seasoned comedian, it’s that she isn’t afraid to speak up. In a recent vlog on her YouTube channel, she addressed the latest topic on everyone’s minds: her family matters. She explained that she had seen news questioning her absence from Asma Abbas’ son’s wedding. “I’m in the middle of a shoot, I swear, she said. “That poor sister of mine is waiting for me. But I’ve made a strong commitment with someone. They invest money into their projects, book artists, and so on.” Bushra Ansari responded directly to the online gossip, defending her professional commitments.
The 68-year-old actor acknowledged that her heart was with her nephew’s wedding, but she makes sure to stay connected virtually. “Our full celebrations will take place from the 23rd to the 27th. I’ll be shooting at a distant railway station on the night of the 22nd, but I’ll take an early-morning flight on the 23rd. God willing, Ahmad’s nikkah will be in the afternoon, and by then, I’ll be there,” she clarified.
After briefly explaining her situation, the Dil Naz actor commented on the tendency of gossipmongers to unnecessarily stir up drama in situations that don’t warrant it. “They’re always looking for specific details to see if there’s any conflict,” she pointed out.
In addition to addressing the negativity, Bushra couldn’t help but rave about the fun activities with her extended family. She shared that she had traveled to Lahore briefly for work, which allowed her to spend time with them, though she wasn’t able to capture the moment on video.
Several videos circulating on social media show Asma’s family fully enjoying the wedding celebrations. Asma herself has been showcasing her best moves for the event, while her daughter, Zara Noor Abbas, has been actively posting clips of their close-knit gatherings and wedding traditions.
Bushra Ansari addressed the online gossip surrounding her absence, mentioning that since Zara is on maternity leave, she’s able to attend all the festivities, whereas Bushra is unable to do so because of her ongoing projects. “Now that I’m going, it’s going to be a lot of fun. After all, our youngest baby is getting married!” she said, excited, while packing for the trip.
Bushra also praised Asma’s strength in managing all the wedding events, noting how busy she’s been throughout. “She’s very courageous. May Allah grant her a long life. She has a great soul and is always happy, no matter the circumstances,” Bushra added.
