Bollywood actress Sharmin Segal recently made headlines when she revealed that she had turned down a marriage proposal from none other than superstar Salman Khan.
The revelation came to light during a recent interview where Sharmin shared some interesting anecdotes from her early encounters with the Bollywood icon.
Recalling her childhood memories, Sharmin mentioned an amusing incident that took place when she was just 2 or 3 years old.
She recounted meeting Salman Khan on the sets of the film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, where he jokingly asked her,
“Will you marry me?” to which she responded with a laugh and a playful “No!” Despite her young age and lack of understanding about marriage, Sharmin’s interaction with Salman left a lasting impression on her.
Despite declining Salman’s proposal as a child, Sharmin admitted to still being a fan of the superstar, particularly while watching his iconic song “O O Jane Jana” from the film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya.
However, she clarified that her refusal was merely a result of her innocence at that time.
In the interview, Sharmin also shared insights into her professional journey, including her collaboration with her uncle, renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
She revealed that she realized Bhansali was her uncle while watching his film Devdas at the age of 18. Sharmin expressed her admiration for her uncle’s work ethic and revealed that she had the opportunity to assist him on the sets of Bajirao Mastani.
According to Sharmin, Bhansali is not only a tireless worker but also a mentor who helped her discover a different side of herself during the shoot of Heeramandi.
